Encouraging children to Read, Tell & Share Stories

through our exclusive

Super Personalised Competition 

in partnership with

Birmingham Children’s Library and Birmingham BIPC

Super Personalised Books is running a creative writing competition in collaboration with Birmingham Children’s Library.  We will be providing FREE workshops to encourage children to participate.

To celebrate Commonwealth Birmingham 2022, we are running this Exclusive competition for children 3-8 years of age.

Children have to tell a story, which can be written, drawn or both, about why they are excited about the Commonwealth games coming to Birminghan in 2022.

PRIZES : There will be 14 Lucky children who will receive a copy of their story in print. Truly memorable keepsake book to inspire children.


22nd January – Competition Launches

21st to 25th February – Spring Term Holidays – *FREE Workshops in Library

8th to 25th April – Easter Holidays – *FREE Workshops in Library

30th May to 03rd June – Summer Half Term Holidays – *FREE Workshops in Library

11th June – Closing date for all Entries (dropped of to participating libraries or submitted online)

13th – 19th June -A 3 person panel made up of Birmingham & Solihull Library staff to judge 14 winners

10th July – Select & inform parents of winning story teller children, inviting them to award ceremony and inform that the event will be recorded.

25th July – Award ceremony.

*FREE 45 minute workshops Daily at Birmingham Childrens Library.

Monday-Friday 1-1.45pm. Saturdays 2.30-3.15

Every child receives a participating prize.


Short Story Prize

14 children will win 1 pages in the book, together they will compile 1 book.  1 winner will also have the chance to draw the front cover.

Competition rules:

Entrants must be aged between 3 to 8 years old, a UK resident and have permission from parent/guardian.

Short Story Prize – The word count of the story must be between 50-150 words, the choice is yours; however it must be written and illustrate over 2 page only.

Closing date for entry is 11th June 2022

Final Winner decided on 19th June 2022 by a panel of 3 judges, winners will be announced on 10th July 2022

Awarding Ceremony will be on 25th July 2022
